About Politics Bits
A different kind of political website
Politics Bits is intended to provide both UK and Canadian political news and opinions. It is run by a real British Canadian citizen. Why is that important? Well, hopefully this means that no-one can accuse me of any undue foreign political influence in either country.
The content here is mostly going to be short form “bits” with the occasional longer form opinion pieces thrown into the mix. Most news content will be in “brief” form.
News Content
All news content is posted with the intention of being impartial in nature. Sources will be provided where possible to allow readers to self-research and draw their own conclusions. UK and Canadian news will be the primary focus, however US and World news will be posted from time to time if it has the potential to relate to British or Canadian interests.
Opinion Content
All opinion pieces can be assumed to written with a centre-left bias that reflects the opinion of the author himself. For the purpose of complete transparency, you’ll notice a “political bias notice” at the top of our opinion pieces – this only serves as a reminder to our readers.
We make an effort to primarily cover UK and Canadian stories in our opinion pieces, however there may be occasions where we choose to write about US or World politics where it makes sense to do so (for example, in the case of the 2024 US Presidential election where the results will have profound impacts on both the UK and Canada). These pieces are in no way intended to interfere with the political process in those countries. We encourage healthy debate and discussion in the comments section of these posts however reserve the right to moderate comments where it makes sense to do so.
