Employees from Canadas two largest railway companies, Canadian National (CN) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC), must return to work Monday following an unprecedented work stoppage. The Canadian Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) has also imposed binding arbitration on the parties involved.
While the order will have employees return to work starting Monday morning, a statement from CPKC states that it may take several weeks for full recovery to normal operations.
The union representing rail workers in the current dispute is Teamsters Rail.
